Why is it necessary to install a suction check valve on the water pump?

Exhaust check valve, also known as a check valve, is used to prevent liquid in the pressure water pipeline from flowing back into the pump when the water pump stops running, causing the rotor to reverse, damaging equipment, or causing a sharp drop in pressure in the pressure water pipeline. Generally, valves are not installed on the suction pipeline. But if the pump is connected to the suction pipe of other pumps, or if the pump is in a self flowing water filling position (such as when the water source has pressure or the suction surface is higher than the inlet pipe), an inlet relief valve should be installed for isolation during equipment maintenance. The purpose of installing a check valve at the outlet of the pump is to only allow the pump to send water outward, and not allow water to flow back to the pump in the opposite direction, to prevent high-pressure water from flowing back to the pump and causing the pump to reverse when the pump suddenly stops running.
The high-pressure water at the outlet of the water pump can be directly sent to the boiler, or to the pipeline connected to the high-pressure main pipe or to the high-level water tank. When the water pump suddenly stops running for some reason during operation, the pressure inside the pump disappears, and the high-pressure water connected to the pump outlet will flow back to the pump in the opposite direction.
When a suction check valve is installed at the outlet of the water pump, it will immediately close to prevent high-pressure water from flowing back to the pump. If a check valve is not installed at the outlet of the water pump, high-pressure water will flow back to the pump in reverse, and the impeller of the water pump will reverse under the impact of high-pressure water. Due to the impact load of high-pressure water, the impeller or other components may become loose or damaged in severe cases; Reducing the water pressure of the main pipe and lowering the boiler water level can affect safe operation.
